Sugar Bowl New Year's Day on Fox 29

Allstate Sugar Bowl between the Florida Gators and the Cincinnati Bearcats live from New Orleans New Year's Day @ 8 PM.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - There's only one unbeaten team in the Sugar Bowl, and it's not the one everybody's talking about.

Although, Cincinnati is 12-0 and the champion of the Big East, the Bearcats have been largely overshadowed by the focus on Tim Tebow's last college game and Urban Meyer's retirement-turned-indefinite leave (more).

Tebow, who has called Meyer his father away from home, plans on spending some quality time with Meyer after season. "Hopefully, I'll beat him in golf a few times," Tebow said.

Offensive coordinator Steve Addazio will be the interim coach in Meyer's absence. "Everyone is behind him. It's a rallying cry to do well for Coach Addazio, too," continued Tebow. "Everyone is behind him 100 percent."

Meanwhile, Cincinnati receiver Mardy Gilyard says he understands why the Florida Gators are attracting most of the attention in New Orleans. Gilyard says the Gators have an extraordinary team and a proud history, including two national titles in the past four seasons.

Gilyard says the Bearcats will have to earn their way into the limelight by beating Florida on Friday, much like Utah did a year earlier against Alabama.

Four of the five 2010 BCS games will be televised on FOX 29: FedEx Orange Bowl, Allstate Sugar Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl & AT&T Cotton Bowl. (more)
